Jupiter's Orbit
Jupiter's orbit is elliptical instead of circular like most other planets in the solar system. At perihelion (closest approach) Jupiter is still 741 million kilometers or 4.95 AU. It takes Jupiter 4,331 Earth days to orbit the sun. When in orbit it is traveling at the speed of 47,002 kilometers/hour. Many planets in the solar system have seasons like earth but Jupiter does not because it rotates to fast.
Jupiter's Appearance
Jupiter is a colorful planet. The top layer of Jupiter's clouds are red and orange and than yellows and light shades of blue. Jupiter is famous for its storms. Its most known one is The Great Red Spot. It is big enough to fit 2 earths inside of it. Over the years it changes color shape and size.
